Customize action buttons

To show you how it works and how to create your own custom prompts, Wordscope comes with plenty of example prompt libraries: Generic, Medical, Legal, Marketing, Patents, Technical / IT, Financial, Literary, and Web Search packs. Each pack contains ready-made prompts that you can turn into action buttons.

You can mix prompts from several libraries on the same ChatGPT bar. You can also hide built-in buttons from the Default Library that you rarely use (for example Write or Simplify).

You do not need a button for every prompt. Keep only the few actions you use on this kind of job, then click Save.

Adding and removing buttons

Imagine you translate a medical leaflet. You want the More concise prompt from the Generic prompts examples library and the Expand abbreviation prompt from the Medical prompts examples library. You also want to remove the action buttons Write and Simplify from the bar.

Step 1 – Add a prompt from the Generic prompts examples library

1️⃣ Open a project.

2️⃣ Click the ChatGPT button.

3️⃣ Click the Libraries button.

4️⃣ Open the Browse tab.

5️⃣ In the Library: list, select Generic prompts examples.

6️⃣ Find More concise in the list of prompts available in that library.

7️⃣ Tick Action for that prompt.

8️⃣ Click Save.

Step 2 – Add a prompt from Medical prompts examples

1️⃣ Still in Libraries, open the Browse tab.

2️⃣ In the Library: list, select Medical prompts examples.

3️⃣ Find Expand abbreviation.

4️⃣ Tick Action for that prompt.

5️⃣ Click Save.

Both prompts now appear as buttons on the ChatGPT bar, next to the Default Library buttons.

Step 3 – Remove Write and Simplify action buttons

Built-in buttons live in the Default Library. Untick Action to hide them from the ChatGPT bar (the prompt stays available if you need it later).

1️⃣ In the Library: list, select Default Library.

2️⃣ Find Write.

3️⃣ Untick Action.

4️⃣ Find Simplify.

5️⃣ Untick Action.

6️⃣ Click Save.

7️⃣ Close Libraries. The ChatGPT bar should show your two example prompts, and no longer show Write or Simplify.

Uncheck a prompt to remove it from the buttons list.

Use Activate All or Deactivate All only on a filtered list if you do not want every prompt as a button. Filter or select one library first, then activate.
