Managing your subscription

Once your Wordscope Individual subscription is active, the subscriptions page at https://pro.wordscope.com/subscriptions becomes your control centre. From there you can upgrade or downgrade your plan, switch between monthly and yearly billing, add or reduce Extra Volume, review how many AI-assisted words you have consumed, download invoices, update your payment method, cancel if you no longer need the service, or move to Wordscope Team when your practice outgrows a single-user licence.

Your Individual subscription includes a monthly allowance of AI-assisted words as part of Bronze, Silver, or Gold. Those words power DeepL PRO, Google Translate PRO, Amazon Translate PRO, ChatGPT for Translators, and the other integrated AI tools in the editor, without requiring separate subscriptions or API keys on your side.

Managing your subscription

Wordscope gives you considerable flexibility after you subscribe. You are not locked into a single configuration for the life of your account. You can upgrade when your workload increases, downgrade when it eases, add Extra Volume during a busy month, switch to yearly billing to save 10%, or cancel when you no longer need the tool. Most billing changes pass through Preview your changes so that you see exactly what will be charged now and what your next renewal will look like before anything is applied.

Some actions do not use Preview. Cancelling your subscription, viewing History, updating Billing info, and checking Usage are handled directly on the subscriptions page. The sections below explain each action in detail, with step-by-step instructions. Whenever an action involves Preview your changes, please check the Preview your changes page for more details about your changes.

Upgrade

You should consider upgrading your subscription when your current plan no longer matches the way you work. Perhaps you find yourself running out of included AI-assisted words every month before the billing period ends, or you take on larger projects that rely heavily on machine translation and ChatGPT. Perhaps you simply want the larger built-in allowance and additional capabilities that come with Silver or Gold rather than purchasing Extra Volume repeatedly on a lower tier.

An upgrade moves you to a higher plan — for example from Bronze to Silver, or from Silver to Gold — and takes effect immediately. As soon as you confirm the change, your account operates on the new plan for the remainder of the current billing period. Wordscope charges the difference between your old plan and your new plan on a prorated basis, which means you pay only for the portion of the period that remains until your next billing anniversary, not the full new-plan price as if you had been on that plan since the beginning of the month.

1️⃣ Open https://pro.wordscope.com/subscriptions and make sure the Individual tab is selected.

2️⃣ Click the higher plan you wish to move to, either Silver or Gold depending on your current tier.

3️⃣ Click Preview your changes. Please check the Preview your changes page for more details about your changes, including how to read the Charged today and Next invoice sections.

4️⃣ Review Charged today carefully, because that is the prorated amount you will pay immediately, and review Next invoice to understand what your full renewal will cost once the change is fully in place.

5️⃣ Click Confirm to apply the upgrade.

Upgrade or Extra Volume? If you need more words for a short intense period but your typical monthly usage is otherwise comfortable on your current plan, adding Extra Volume on Silver or Gold may be more economical than upgrading permanently. If you consistently exhaust your included allowance every period, upgrading the plan itself is usually simpler. The Usage tab, described below, will help you decide by showing how much you actually consume over time.

Downgrade

A downgrade is appropriate when a lower tier is sufficient for your current workload. You might move from Gold to Silver, or from Silver to Bronze, after a large project ends, if you translate less with AI assistance than before, or if you wish to reduce your recurring subscription cost while keeping access to Wordscope.

Downgrades behave differently from upgrades. Wordscope does not apply a downgrade immediately, and it does not refund the unused portion of your current period. Instead, the downgrade is scheduled for the end of your current billing period. Until that date arrives, you continue to enjoy your current plan, your current included word allowance, and all the features of that tier. The lower plan and its included words take effect only from the next billing cycle onward.

Before you downgrade, it is wise to open the Usage tab and review how many words you typically consume in a period. Make sure the included allowance on the lower tier will be adequate. If you downgrade to Bronze, bear in mind that Extra Volume is not available on that plan, so any Extra Volume you currently have will be removed when the current period ends.

1️⃣ Open https://pro.wordscope.com/subscriptions.php and select the Individual tab.

2️⃣ Click the lower plan you wish to move to.

3️⃣ Click Preview your changes. Please check the Preview your changes page for more details about your changes.

4️⃣ Confirm that Charged today shows nothing or displays “Nothing (no invoice),” because downgrades should not produce an immediate charge. Then read Next invoice to see what you will pay on renewal under the lower tier.

5️⃣ Click Confirm to schedule the downgrade for period end.

Discount coupons and Bronze: You cannot downgrade to Bronze while a discount coupon is applied to your subscription, because discount coupons are not available on Bronze plans. You must wait until the coupon expires or remove it before selecting Bronze.

If you change your mind: When a downgrade is scheduled but the current period has not yet ended, you can click Restore [Plan] on your current plan card to cancel the scheduled change, then run Preview again if you are making other adjustments at the same time.

Billing switch

You can switch between monthly and yearly billing at any time, depending on how you prefer to be invoiced. Yearly billing saves 10% compared with paying monthly for twelve months, which makes it attractive if you expect to use Wordscope regularly throughout the year.

Switching from monthly to yearly is treated as an upgrade. The change applies immediately, and Wordscope charges a prorated amount today to reflect the move to the yearly rate for the remainder of the current period. Switching from yearly to monthly is treated as a downgrade. Your subscription remains on yearly billing until the current period ends, and monthly billing begins from the next cycle. No immediate credit is issued when you move from yearly to monthly.

1️⃣ Open https://pro.wordscope.com/subscriptions.php and select the Individual tab.

2️⃣ Toggle billing to Monthly or Yearly according to your preference.

3️⃣ Click Preview your changes. Please check the Preview your changes page for more details about your changes.

4️⃣ If you are switching to yearly, expect a charge in Charged today. If you are switching to monthly, Charged today will usually be empty and the change will appear in Next invoice from the following period.

5️⃣ Click Confirm to apply the billing switch.

Usage

The Usage tab is your personal dashboard for AI-assisted translation consumption during the current billing period. You can open it at any time to see how many words you have used, how many are included in your plan, how many remain, and — if you have purchased Extra Volume — how much of that additional allowance you have consumed. This visibility allows you to adapt your subscription to your real needs rather than guessing whether you should upgrade, add Extra Volume, or simply wait for the next period to reset your counters.

On the Usage tab you will typically find your current usage period with its start and end dates, the total number of AI-assisted words you have consumed so far, the number of words included in your Bronze, Silver, or Gold plan for this period, the number of included words still remaining, any Extra Volume you have purchased, and a table called Projects this period that breaks down consumption by project so you can see which assignments drove your usage.

Words are counted when you use AI assistance in the editor — machine translation suggestions, ChatGPT for Translators, and similar integrated tools. Manual typing and editing without invoking AI does not consume your allowance in the same way.

If you have used all of your included words and all of your Extra Volume, you can of course continue working on your projects. You can still translate, edit, and save segments manually. However, you will not receive AI assistance — no new machine translation suggestions and no ChatGPT actions — until one of three things happens: your counters reset at the beginning of the next usage period, which is typically the start of your next billing month; you add Extra Volume on Silver or Gold and confirm the change through Preview your changes; or you upgrade to a higher plan that includes a larger built-in allowance.

Checking Usage regularly during busy weeks helps you avoid reaching your limit unexpectedly the day before a deadline. If you see remaining words dropping quickly, it is better to add Extra Volume or upgrade while AI assistance is still available than to discover mid-project that suggestions have stopped.

1️⃣ Open https://pro.wordscope.com/subscriptions.

2️⃣ Open the Usage tab.

3️⃣ Review words used, included words, remaining words, and any Extra Volume displayed.

4️⃣ Open Projects this period to see which projects consumed the most AI-assisted words.

5️⃣ If you are running low, follow the Extra Volume or Upgrade steps above, or wait until the next period resets your allowance.

Planning for similar projects: When you notice that a particular type of job — long technical manuals, for example — consistently consumes a large share of your allowance, you can plan Extra Volume or a plan upgrade before the next similar project begins rather than reacting after the fact.

Extra Volume

Extra Volume is an optional add-on that increases the number of AI-assisted words available to you beyond the allowance included in your Silver or Gold plan. Every plan already includes a certain number of words per billing period for DeepL, Google Translate, Amazon Translate, ChatGPT for Translators, and the other integrated AI tools. Extra Volume is for those periods when that included allowance is not enough — perhaps because you are working on a long document, facing a tight deadline, or simply having an unusually heavy month of machine translation and AI usage.

Extra Volume is available on Silver and Gold only. It is not offered on Bronze. If you downgrade to Bronze, any Extra Volume you currently have will be removed when the current billing period ends. When you increase Extra Volume, Wordscope charges the additional amount immediately on a prorated basis for the days remaining in the period. When you decrease Extra Volume, the reduction takes effect at period end, and you retain the higher volume until the current period closes.

1️⃣ Open https://pro.wordscope.com/subscriptions.php and select the Individual tab.

2️⃣ Locate the Extra Volume (AI Assistance) control and set the amount you want.

3️⃣ Click Preview your changes. Please check the Preview your changes page for more details about your changes.

4️⃣ Read Charged today if you are increasing volume, or Next invoice if you are decreasing it at period end.

5️⃣ Click Confirm to apply the change.

How much Extra Volume do you need? Open the Usage tab and review Projects this period to see which jobs consumed the most words. That breakdown is far more reliable than guessing, because long documents and heavy MT usage can consume an allowance much faster than short exercises.

History

The History tab is your permanent record of everything that has happened on the billing side of your Wordscope account. It lists invoices that Wordscope has issued, payments that succeeded or failed, and significant subscription events such as upgrades, scheduled downgrades, cancellations, and changes to Extra Volume. For accounting purposes, or simply to verify that a charge matches what you expected on the Preview page, History is the authoritative place to look.

Each invoice can usually be opened or downloaded as a PDF for your records. If a payment failed — for example because a credit card expired — the failed attempt appears here so that you can go to Billing info, update your payment method, and avoid losing access when the grace period ends. Scheduled downgrades and cancellations also appear in History even though they only take effect at period end, which allows you to confirm exactly when a change was requested and what type of change it was.

1️⃣ Open https://pro.wordscope.com/subscriptions.php.

2️⃣ Open the History tab.

3️⃣ Browse the list of invoices and payments, using date or status filters if the interface offers them.

4️⃣ Click an invoice link to open or download the PDF for your accounting records.

Reconciling with Preview: After you confirm an upgrade or an Extra Volume increase, the amount shown in Charged today on the Preview page should correspond to the invoice that appears in History for that date. If the figures differ unexpectedly, contact Wordscope support with both the Preview summary and the invoice reference.

Billing info

The Billing info section is where you manage the payment and identity details Wordscope uses to charge you and produce invoices. It shows your current plan and billing interval, your next renewal date, your payment method, and — when applicable — your billing name, address, and tax or VAT information. Keeping this section accurate is essential, because an expired card or an outdated company address can lead to failed renewals or incorrect invoices even when you fully intend to remain subscribed.

Updating Billing info does not change your plan tier or your word allowance. It only affects how Wordscope bills you and what appears on your invoices. If a renewal payment fails, Wordscope may retry during a grace period; if the payment method is not corrected in time, your access can end when that grace period expires, even though you did not explicitly cancel.

1️⃣ Open https://pro.wordscope.com/subscriptions.

2️⃣ Open Billing info.

3️⃣ Review your current plan, billing interval, and next renewal date so you know where you stand.

4️⃣ Update your payment method if your card has expired or if you received a payment failure notice.

5️⃣ Update your billing name, address, or tax details if your accounting requirements have changed.

6️⃣ Save your changes.

Do not wait on a failed payment: If you receive notice that a renewal payment failed, update your payment method in Billing info as soon as possible rather than waiting until the last day of the grace period. Otherwise AI-assisted features may stop even though you intended to continue your subscription.

Wordscope Team

Wordscope Team is the right choice when a single Individual licence is no longer sufficient. If you manage colleagues, run a small agency, or work in a department where several people need to create projects under one contract, Team provides multiple Project Manager seats, a team roster, and the ability to invite unlimited linguists to projects without paying a separate licence for each translator.

Individual and Team are separate products with different billing models, and you cannot maintain an active Individual subscription and an active Team subscription on the same account simultaneously.

To move to Team:

1️⃣ Open https://pro.wordscope.com/subscriptions.

2️⃣ Select the Corporate / Agencies tab and choose Wordscope Team.

4️⃣ Follow the full Team subscription process described on For team managers.

Cancel your subscription

You may cancel your Individual subscription when you no longer need Wordscope. Cancellation is scheduled for the end of the current billing period, which means you are not cut off the moment you click the button. You retain full access to your plan, your included words, and the editor until the period ends, and no further renewals are charged after that date.

Before you cancel, take time to export or back up translation memories, glossaries, and any project data you may need later, because after the period ends you will lose access to the features included with your subscription unless you subscribe again. Cancellation does not use Preview your changes; you confirm it directly from your current plan card.

1️⃣ Open https://pro.wordscope.com/subscriptions and select the Individual tab.

2️⃣ On your current plan card, click Cancel Subscription.

3️⃣ Confirm that you wish to cancel.

4️⃣ Back up any data you want to keep before the billing period ends.

If you reconsider: Before the period ends, you can click “I changed my mind – keep my subscription” to reverse the cancellation and continue on your current plan without interruption.

After the period ends: AI-assisted features will no longer be available once your subscription ends. You can return and subscribe again from the Individual tab at any time if your needs change in the future.
